Preborn children murdered in the U.S. this year

Estimate based on 1,126,000 abortions in 2025 (Guttmacher Institute)
The preborn child does not need a legislature to declare him a person. He is a human being, made in the image of God, and his worth comes from that, not from a legal title men confer and can just as easily revoke. Calling him a person in the constitution may sound like progress, but it leaves the laws that permit his murder untouched. They are called human rights, not person rights, and justice for the preborn requires that his murder be punished as the murder of any other human being.
Since 1986, Missouri law (RSMo 1.205) has stated that ‘the life of each human being begins at conception’ and that the unborn child has ‘all the rights, privileges, and immunities available to other persons.’ The U.S. Supreme Court let that law stand in Webster v. Reproductive Health Services (1989) because it was only a ‘value judgment’ that did not itself restrict abortion, and abortion went on in Missouri for decades. When Missouri’s ban (RSMo 188.017) took effect in 2022, it punished the abortionist but said the woman ‘shall not be prosecuted for a conspiracy to violate’ it. Then in 2024, voters wrote abortion into the state constitution. The child was called a person in Missouri law the whole time, and his murder was never treated as murder.

“Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed; for in the image of God He made man.”
Genesis 9:6
A legal label. Lawmakers stretch it to corporations. Courts have denied it to the child.
Made in His image. His protection rests on what he is, not on what men call him.
A personhood amendment changes the label, not the law against murder.
It declares the child a “person” while leaving in place the statutes that treat his slaughter as something less than murder and exempt those who take part in it.
God’s law requires the magistrate to punish the shedding of innocent blood without partiality, and that requires changing the criminal code itself.
Brothers and sisters, let us not spend our labor on the label.
Ask for the law of murder to be applied equally to every human being, born and preborn.
“Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.”Proverbs 24:11
